
Biography
Jonathan Mawson is a Creative Director and Choreographer whose career spans the West End, UK tours, international productions, television, music videos, commercials, and large-scale immersive entertainment.

Jonathan began training in 2001 at Laine Theatre Arts, graduating with a diploma in Professional Dance, and went on to perform internationally in musicals, concerts, and commercial work.

Starlight Express(Bochum, Germany – Purse), Legally Blonde the Musical (Savoy Theatre, West End – Swing), An Evening of Dirty Dancing (Stage Acts Productions, UK Tour – Dance Captain), and High School Rocks! (Kick 7-6 Productions, UK Tour – Dance Captain). Other highlights include dancing for Kylie Minogue, Anastacia, Enrique Iglesias, Will Young, and Gareth Gates at the Royal Variety Show, performing in the Olivier Awards (Legally Blonde), the feature film Confetti, and headlining as lead vocalist/dancer with Carnival Cruises.

Transitioning into creative leadership, Jonathan has choreographed and directed productions across theatre, touring concerts, bespoke branding concepts, and immersive family entertainment.
In 2025 Jonathan's choreography was nominated as a finalist for Best Choreography at the 2025 TEAA Awards for his work at Colchester Zoo with the Wild Vibe Crew for Jammy Creative Studios.
He has worked with major companies including RWS Global Entertainment, Crossroads Live, MSC Cruises, BOR Productions, The Entertainment Department (TED), Jammy Creative Studios, and Reset Productions.

As a producer, Jonathan created and toured Pop Factor – The Concert (Adrenaline Productions, 2014–2017), which played extensively across the UK to family audiences.

Most recently, Jonathan choreographed Lord Vamp’s House Party at LEGOLAND Windsor (RWS Entertainment), expanding his work in large-scale themed entertainment.

Alongside his creative work, Jonathan is a dedicated educator, teaching at leading training institutions including Miskin Theatre Arts, Reynolds College, and other prestigious colleges. He choreographed a piece for Miskin Theatre which appeared at Move It 2025 and has been invited back to present a new work for Move It 2026.

Jonathan also had the privilege of shadowing producer and director Michael Harrison on Robin Hood at the London Palladium.
Jonathan is currently studying Positive Psychology and Life Coaching to integrate wellbeing into his creative practice.
